Advantages of Electric Vehicles

Why E – Vehicles?

Limited source of fossil fuel

  • The fossil fuel source is limited in our planet.
  • The Co2 emission from electrical vehicles lead to adverse effects on public health.
  • The electrical vehicles can convert around 60% of electrical energy from grid to power vehicles whereas petrol / diesel cars convert only 17% - 21% energy stored in fuel to the wheels.
  • The petrol / diesel emits almost 3 times more carbon dioxide than average E – vehicles.

E – Vehicles

  • Nowadays, E – vehicles are slowly taking place by petrol / diesel vehicles. Electrical Vehicles (EV) have zero tailpipe emissions and create better environment.
  • Tailpipes Emissions: Greenhouse Gases are emitted from the tail pipes of cars and trucks from combustion of fuel.
  • Once these gases are releases, they can stay in atmosphere for very long time or say 100 years and more.
  • The Greenhouse Gases raises sea levels resulting dangerous effects to living near sea.

Advantages of E – Vehicles

  • Lower running cost: Charging of electrical vehicles is cheaper than filling petrol or diesel. The electric cost can be reduced if the charging is done through source of renewable energy such as solar panel etc.
  • Lower maintenance cost: As there are no moving parts as an that of in internal combustion petrol or diesel vehicles therefore running cost of electrical vehicles are significantly low.
  • Zero tailpipe emissions: The electric vehicles can help to reduce carbon emission because it does not emit carbon.
  • Convenient of charging at home: Charging of E – vehicles are as easy as charging of our mobile. Simply plug electric vehicle in at your home charge for 4 – 5 hours for complete charging.
  • Easy & Quiet Drive (No noise pollution)
  • Electric vehicles don’t have gears so easy to drive for anyone. It does not produce any noise so reduce noise pollution during driving.

Tax and financial benefits

  • The road tax as well as registration fees on electrical vehicles are lesser than petrol or diesel vehicles.
  • The incentive offered by country / state are depends on the E – vehicle policies.
  • The incentives for E – vehicles is given under the FAME – Faster adoption and manufacturing of hybrid and electrical vehicles.

Vehicle Type

Approximate Incentive
